An interview with a hacker
We’ve all heard of ‘Hackers’; These shady characters, who break into our systems and steal Data or cause damage.
– But why do they do what they do?
– What motivates them?
– What does it take to be Hacker?
– What is the Darkweb?
– What’s the difference between ‘white hat’ and ‘black hat’ hackers?
– Who do they target and why?
The only way you’re going to find out is by asking a Hacker. So we’re doing just that.
We’re putting the spotlight on one of our very own Hackers, but don’t worry; He’s an ‘Ethical Hacker’ (a Good Guy), and someone who is trusted and given permission to attempt to penetrate an organisations computer system and network, by whatever (legal) means available.
Ethical Hackers have the same approach, knowledge, expertise and tools the Bad Guys have but stopping short of breaking the law. Be under no illusion, Ethical Hackers approach systems and services with the same quizzical mindset as the Bad Guys; “How can I make that website do something it shouldn’t?”, “How can I break that?”, and “What can I do with this new level of access?”.
If you’ve ever wondered what a Hacker looks like, and wanted to know the answers to the questions above, then you need to register for our event.
We’re not looking at systems, and although we’ll be talking ‘tech’, this interview will unearth what Hackers really think about our highly digitised world. We’ll get into the mind of the Hacker and see if we can understand what motivates them, and understand how they choose their targets. We’ll discover what mistakes organisations (and people) make, but more importantly what we can do to keep the Bad Guys at bay.
